The Event
What a wonderful day to celebrate our 5th anniversary! Saturday August 21st, 2010 was a beautiful day in Chilliwack and another great day of fundraising. With over 270 people coming out
along with our 60 volunteers, the event was a huge success! Together, everyone involved in the event raised over $20,000 for the Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus Association.
The Organizing Committee would like to thank our sponsors, the participants and the volunteers for making this year another great success!
If you missed the Chilliwack Event, the Kelowna Event will be happening on September 25th at Waterfront Park. We hope everyone will be able to join us again next year as we continue to
grow this event, increase the awareness of spina bifida and hydrocephalus and raise more funds to improve the quality of life for those living with spina bifida and their families.
The date for the 2011 Hope Classic in Chilliwack is August 20th. Mark it on your calendar and check back to the website for updates.
Also, the National Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus Association is contributing resources and support in hosting multiple run, walk and wheel events across the country during 2011. Please go to www.hopeclassic.ca for more information about the National events and how you can get involved in your own community.
This family-friendly event will begin at the Lions Club Hall (on Hope River road) at 9:45 a.m. The picturesque route will take participants down Kitchen, Fairfield and McSween Roads. This is designed to be a fun, non-competitive event, for in our opinion, Finishing is Winning.
This will be an event for the entire family to enjoy, and those in wheelchairs and strollers are encouraged to participate. Each participant will receive a T-shirt and have the opportunity to win a variety of prizes. A BBQ with music and kid-friendly entertainment will follow in the Hope River Park, adjacent to the Finish Line.
